Cho Rong in 2026: what changed?
Cho Rong remains an important market name in central Ninh Binh, but do not plan your visit from an old photo of the three-storey trading centre. In December 2025, local authorities moved traders out of the former market building so the site could be cleared for the Nam Song Van project. The current provincial market list still records Cho Rong in Hoa Lu ward, which means the market remains part of the local trading network even though the old visitor layout is no longer a reliable reference. Dong Giao Market: useful only if you are already passing Tam Diep
The current provincial market list records Dong Giao Market in Trung Son as a local market. It can make sense if your route already takes you through the Tam Diep area, especially if you are interested in seasonal produce. There is little reason to detour from Tam Coc or Trang An just to tick it off.
