Da Nang Public Transport: Bus Routes, Map & Fares

Da Nang has a public bus network connecting the airport, city centre, beach corridor and several destinations beyond the city. For most visitors, the easiest way to start is to check DanaBus for the right route, nearest stop, direction and current operating information.

The route that works for you depends on where you start and where you actually need to go. Airport services, city buses and longer connections to Hoi An or Ba Na Hills do not all use the same fares, stops or schedules, so avoid planning around one fixed “Da Nang bus fare” or an old static route map.

If you are visiting from India and using local buses in Vietnam for the first time, pay particular attention to the boarding point and direction shown for the route. The same route number can serve two directions, while a bus that passes through the right area may still stop some distance from your hotel or attraction.

Da Nang’s public bus network connects the airport, city areas and selected destinations around Central Vietnam.

Da Nang Public Transport at a Glance

For most short-term visitors, DanaBus is the public transport system worth understanding first. You do not need to memorise the entire network: identify your journey, then check the route, stop, timetable and fare that apply to it.

Travel needUseful optionCheck before travelling

Where you stay can make a significant difference to how useful the bus network is. A hotel close to a suitable corridor can reduce walking or avoid an extra transfer, while a hotel farther from the route may make direct transport more practical. If you are still deciding between the beach, city centre and other areas, our Da Nang travel guide can help you compare the main areas and plan the rest of your stay.

Da Nang Bus Map: How to Check the Current Network

The DanaBus mobile app is the primary official tool for planning a bus journey. It can help you search between two locations, identify nearby stops, check the routes serving a stop and view live bus information where available.

The DanaBus website serves a slightly different purpose: it is useful for checking current route details, endpoints, published fares, timetables and service notices. For an actual journey, use the current operational information rather than assuming every route shown in a long-term transport plan is already operating in the same form.

Which Da Nang Bus Routes Are Most Useful for Tourists?

Most visitors only need a small part of the network. The routes below cover several of the more useful journeys between Da Nang Airport, central Da Nang, the beach corridor, Hoi An and Ba Na Hills.

Visitors usually only need the bus routes that match their actual airport, hotel or sightseeing journey.

How Much Does the Da Nang Bus Cost?

There is no single flat fare for every public bus in Da Nang. Some routes use one single-trip fare, while others charge according to the distance travelled.

Route / servicePublished fareHow the fare works
Route 128,000 VNDSingle trip
Route 0615,000 / 22,000 VNDUp to half the route / over half to full route
Route 0315,000 / 30,000 VNDUnder half the route / half route to full route
Route 028,000 / 20,000 / 30,000 VNDUp to 10 km / over 10–25 km / over 25 km to full route
Hai Van Airport–Hoi An Bus120,000 VNDAirport-specific service

These fares were checked against official operating information on 14 August 2026. A fare from one route should not be used to estimate another: Route 12, for example, does not use the same fare structure as Routes 02, 03 or 06.

DanaBus also supports digital functions for monthly passes. Short-term travellers should still check how a single journey is currently paid on the route they plan to take rather than assuming every ride is purchased through the app.

How to Use DanaBus Step by Step

A route number alone is not enough. Before boarding, confirm the direction, stop, departure window and fare for your journey.

  1. Enter your starting point and destination. Let DanaBus suggest a route instead of choosing only because a bus passes through the right district.
  2. Check the direction. Look at the route endpoint so you do not board the same route number in the opposite direction.
  3. Find the nearest suitable stop. The physically closest stop may not serve the route you need.
  4. Review the timetable and frequency. First and last departures can differ by direction, and buses do not all run at the same interval.
  5. Check the fare for your distance. On distance-based routes, the fare depends on how far along the route you travel.
  6. Use live bus information where available. This can help you see an approaching bus and reduce unnecessary waiting at an unfamiliar stop.
  7. Follow your journey on your phone. This is useful if you do not recognise local street names or landmarks.
  8. Allow extra time when timing matters. Road restrictions, major events or temporary operational changes can affect the normal service.

Practical tip: If you have an airport check-in time, attraction ticket or other fixed appointment, leave a sensible buffer rather than planning around the exact arrival time of one bus.

Taking a Public Bus from Da Nang Airport

Da Nang International Airport currently publishes clear terminal pickup information for Route 12, Route 06 and the Hai Van Bus to Hoi An.

ServiceUseful forCurrent operating information
Route 12Central Da Nang and areas on the Xuan Dieu–Pham Hung corridorApproximately 05:30–19:00 daily
Route 06Dragon Bridge, Vo Van Kiet, Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Sa and southern Da NangAirport Bus Station: first 05:45, last 19:25; Vietnam–Korea University: first 05:30, last 19:00
Hai Van BusDa Nang Airport to Hoi An / Cua Dai07:30–16:00 daily

Where to Catch Routes 06, 12 and the Hoi An Bus

For the services with published terminal pickup information:

  • Domestic Terminal T1: Routes 06, 12 and Hai Van Bus use Pillar 2 outside the Arrivals Hall.
  • International Terminal T2: the same services use Pillars 7 and 8 outside the Arrivals Hall.

Check your hotel’s location before deciding between Routes 12 and 06. Route 06 is particularly relevant for destinations around Dragon Bridge, Vo Van Kiet and parts of the coastal corridor, but the nearest stop may still require a walk.

Route 03 to Ba Na Hills: Check the Airport-Side Boarding Point

Official operating information currently describes the airport-side starting point of Route 03 differently. DanaBus lists Route 03 between Da Nang Airport Bus Station and Ba Na Hills Tourist Area, while current airport transport guidance describes Route 03 as running from Man Thien Street toward Ba Na Hills and passing near the airport rather than using the terminal stops.

If you are starting directly from T1 or T2, do not assume Route 03 boards at the same pillars as Routes 06 and 12. Check the current boarding location before travelling.

Route 03 is the public-bus option. If you also want to compare the official shuttle, Grab, taxi and private car, use our guide to every way to travel from Da Nang to Ba Na Hills.

Can You Take a Public Bus from Da Nang to Hoi An?

Yes, but the useful service depends on where you start. Travelling from Da Nang Airport to Hoi An is different from travelling from central Da Nang, and the two options use different fares and boarding points.

Da Nang Airport to Hoi An

The Hai Van Bus provides an airport connection through the coastal corridor toward Hoi An and Cua Dai.

  • Operating hours: 07:30–16:00 daily.
  • Fare: 120,000 VND per trip.
  • T1 pickup: Pillar 2.
  • T2 pickup: Pillars 7–8.

The 120,000 VND fare belongs to this airport-specific service. It is not a universal fare for every public-bus journey between Da Nang and Hoi An.

Central Da Nang to Hoi An and Cua Dai

Route 02 connects Da Nang Central Bus Station with the city administrative centre before continuing south through the Le Van Hien corridor, Hoi An and Cua Dai.

Current operating information lists Route 02 from 04:45 to 18:00, with buses approximately every 15–30 minutes. The fare is distance-based:

  • Up to 10 km: 8,000 VND.
  • Over 10 km to 25 km: 20,000 VND.
  • Over 25 km to the full route: 30,000 VND.

Because Route 02 covers a long corridor, search from your actual hotel rather than automatically travelling to the Central Bus Station. A stop farther along the route may be more convenient.

Can You Take a Public Bus to Ba Na Hills?

DanaBus currently lists Route 03 as a bus connection to Ba Na Hills. Published fares are 15,000 VND for a shorter journey and 30,000 VND from half the route to the full route.

The route continues through several areas of Da Nang before reaching Ba Na Hills. Current DanaBus information lists first and last departures of 07:00 and 18:00 from the airport-side terminus, and 08:00 and 19:00 from Ba Na Hills.

The airport-side boarding location requires an extra check because the current DanaBus route description and airport guidance are not expressed in the same way. If you are travelling from an airport terminal, confirm where Route 03 currently boards before leaving the terminal.

What About My Khe Beach and Marble Mountains?

For My Khe Beach, your exact hotel location matters more than the neighbourhood name. Route 06 follows Vo Van Kiet, Vo Nguyen Giap and Truong Sa, making it relevant to parts of the beach corridor, but that does not mean the bus stops directly outside every beach hotel.

For Marble Mountains and the Non Nuoc area, Route 02 travels along the Le Van Hien corridor and current route information includes stops around the Chua Non Nuoc area. Check the exact stop and walking distance before travelling to the attraction.

This is an important distinction when reading a bus map: a route passing through the correct corridor does not automatically mean it stops at the entrance to a beach, hotel or attraction.

When Are Grab, Taxi or Private Transport More Practical?

Public buses work well when your route is straightforward and your schedule is flexible. Direct transport can become easier when you have several bags, a long walk to the nearest stop, multiple transfers or a fixed arrival time.

SituationPublic busWhen direct transport may be easier
Solo traveller with flexible timingOften practicalWhen no useful bus corridor reaches the destination
Airport arrival with light luggageRoutes 06 or 12 may work wellWhen the hotel is far from a useful stop
Several large bagsPossible depending on the routeWhen walking or transfers become inconvenient
Family or senior travellersDepends on the stop and walking distanceWhen door-to-door transport simplifies the journey
Several attractions in one dayPossible with advance planningWhen transfers would take too much sightseeing time
Strict airport or attraction timingUse with a time bufferWhen schedule certainty matters more than the lower fare

Ride-hailing and taxi prices can change with distance, time and demand, so check the live price when you travel rather than relying on a fixed fare from an older guide.

If you would rather have airport transfers and sightseeing transport organised around the itinerary instead of coordinating each journey separately, Vietnam Story’s Da Nang itineraries with Hoi An and Ba Na Hills show how these destinations can be planned as one Central Vietnam stay.

Frequently Asked Questions About Da Nang Public Transport

Does Da Nang have public buses?

Yes. Da Nang has city and longer-distance public bus routes. DanaBus provides current route information and mobile tools for planning journeys, finding nearby stops and checking live bus information.

Where can I see the Da Nang bus map?

Use DanaBus for current route planning and stop information. A simplified visitor map can help you understand the main corridors, but live operational information should be checked before travelling.

How do I find the nearest bus stop?

Use the nearby-stop function in DanaBus, then check which routes and directions serve the stop. The closest physical bus stop may not be the correct one for your destination.

How much does a bus cost in Da Nang?

It depends on the route and, for some services, the distance travelled. Route 12 currently has an 8,000 VND single-trip fare, while Routes 02, 03 and 06 use distance-based fare structures.

Which buses stop at Da Nang Airport?

Current airport pickup information is published for Routes 06 and 12 and the Hai Van Bus to Hoi An. At T1 these services use Pillar 2; at T2 they use Pillars 7 and 8.

Can I take a bus from Da Nang to Hoi An?

Yes. From Da Nang Airport, the Hai Van Bus provides an airport-to-Hoi An connection. From central Da Nang, Route 02 continues through Hoi An to Cua Dai. These services have different fare structures and boarding points.

Is there a public bus to Ba Na Hills?

DanaBus currently lists Route 03 to Ba Na Hills. If you are starting at Da Nang Airport, confirm the current airport-side boarding point before travelling because current official descriptions of that starting point are not fully aligned.

Does DanaBus show buses in real time?

Yes. DanaBus states that its mobile app can show live bus positions and information about buses approaching a stop, alongside route and nearby-stop information.

Can bus routes or schedules change temporarily?

Yes. Road restrictions, major events and temporary operational changes can affect a normal route or timetable. Recheck your route when the timing of the journey is important.

Is the public bus practical with luggage?

It depends on your luggage, the distance to the stop and whether you need to transfer. Travellers carrying several large bags may find door-to-door transport more practical, especially immediately after a flight.
