Vietnam Hotel Prices in Indian Rupees: How Much Is a Room Per Night?

When we build a Vietnam itinerary for an Indian couple or family, we do not start with a national hotel average. We start with the room: how many people are sharing it, what standard they actually need, where it should be, and which nights are already covered by a cruise or package.

For 2026 planning, a simple private double can often sit around 400,000–900,000 VND (about ₹1,500–3,300) per room per night. A practical 3-star range is around 700,000–1,800,000 VND (₹2,600–6,650). Comfortable 4-star hotels commonly move into roughly 1,200,000–3,500,000 VND (₹4,400–12,900), while 5-star hotels and resorts can start around 2,500,000 VND (₹9,200) and climb much higher.

The most important budgeting rule is simple: a private hotel room is normally priced per room, not per person. If two adults share a ₹4,000 room, the accommodation cost is roughly ₹2,000 per person for that night.

How Much Does a Hotel Room Cost Per Night in Vietnam?

What you pay depends less on the word “hotel” and more on the room standard, location and dates. In practice, we look at the stay this way:

Simple Private Room

For a private double with air-conditioning and a private bathroom, 400,000–900,000 VND (about ₹1,500–3,300) is a useful planning range in many destinations.

The lower end is more common in smaller hotels, homestays, mini-hotels and less-central locations. The upper end may buy a newer room, stronger reviews or a better position for sightseeing.

3-Star Hotel

For many Indian couples, a good 3-star is enough if the location, cleanliness and breakfast are right. A practical planning range is 700,000–1,800,000 VND (₹2,600–6,650) per room per night.

We would not upgrade from 3-star to 4-star just for the label. Recent room photos, lift access, room size, breakfast, noise and location often matter more.

4-Star Hotel

For a mainstream 4-star city stay, plan around 1,200,000–3,500,000 VND (₹4,400–12,900).

This is often the level Indian families choose when they want a stronger breakfast, pool, larger public areas, better service consistency or a more convenient location. But check the actual facilities—two 4-star hotels can still feel very different.

5-Star Hotel or Resort

Five-star pricing has the widest spread. City hotels can start around 2,500,000 VND (about ₹9,200), while premium brands, suites, beachfront resorts and villas can move well above 8,000,000 VND (₹29,500) per night.

This is why “How much is a 5-star hotel in Vietnam?” does not have one useful national answer. A city hotel, a beach resort and a private-pool villa may all be 5-star but serve completely different trips.

Is a Vietnam Hotel Price Per Room or Per Person?

For a normal private booking, the displayed price is usually for one room, for the selected occupancy, for one night. This is one of the biggest reasons hotel budgets get misread.

Example:

• Room: ₹4,000 per night
• 2 adults sharing: about ₹2,000 per person per night
• 7 hotel nights: ₹28,000 for the room, or about ₹14,000 per person if shared equally

Dorm beds are usually priced per person. Family rooms, triple rooms and extra beds are different again.

For a family of four, we would first check whether the property allows four people in one family room, requires two rooms, or permits an extra bed. That decision can change the total more than the difference between two nearby star categories.

Also check whether the rate is based on double/twin sharing, whether breakfast covers every guest, and how the hotel treats children by age. Do not assume that adding a third traveller simply divides the same room rate by three.

How Much Is a 5-Star Hotel in Vietnam in Indian Rupees?

For trip planning, use roughly ₹9,000–30,000+ per room per night as a broad starting band.

The lower end is more realistic for city hotels and strong promotions. The upper end becomes more relevant for premium brands, suites, private-pool villas, beachfront resorts and peak dates.

Which Vietnam City Is Cheaper for Hotels?

There is no permanent cheapest-city ranking. Season, weekday/weekend pattern, neighbourhood and hotel type can move the rate more than the city name alone.

How Much Should a Couple Budget for 7 Nights?

For two adults sharing one room, the room—not the traveller—is the main unit.

These are planning totals, not quotes. Also check the itinerary before multiplying the room rate by every calendar day. An overnight Ha Long or Lan Ha Bay cruise may replace a hotel night, and a package may already include most accommodation.

What If Hotels Are Already Included in Your Vietnam Package?

This is where we see travellers most often double-count accommodation.

Should You Choose the Cheapest Hotel?
