DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh Arrival

Ho Chi Minh

Timeline:

  • Welcome to Ho Chi Minh – the largest city of Vietnam. Upon arrival, You will be greeted and transferred to hotel for check in . The check in time is 14h00
  • Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels (Breakfast/Lunch)- Joint in tour

Cu Chi Tunnels

Timeline:

  • Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will visit the following places of interest:
    • Independence Palace(the Reunification Palace) was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace.
    • War Remnants Museumwhich has a vast display of both the Indochina wars.
    • Notre Dame CathedralCentral Post Office the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times
    • Jade Emperor Pagoda with the peaceful atmosphere &o many stories behind each detail of the pagoda.
  • After a few hours discovering the city, you will enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant before we drive about 1,5 hours through the pleasant countryside before arriving at Cu Chi.
    • Upon arrival, you’ll watch a brief of propaganda video, which explains how the tunnels were used to successfully defeat American military forces in combat.
    • The tour continues and the guide explains some traps that were placed in the jungles of Vietnam to either maim American soldiers or create panic amongst the ranks.
    • From here, you can enter one of the tunnel entrances and crawl through the tunnels is a real experience to imagine how people could live there for an extended period!
    • There is a shooting range where you can try to fire an automatic or semi-automatic weapon for a fee (this fee is not included)
    • Take some rest at the end for a taste of Cu Chi boiled tapioca and thinking what humans are capable of when having to defend their home.
  • We drive back to Ho Chi Minh city and drop you to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta (Breakfast/Lunch) - Joint in tour

Mekong Delta

Timeline:

  • Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel, and drive 1,5 hours to My Tho. We will stop along the way for refreshments and toilet.
    • Upon arrival, we board a motor-boat and cruise along a vast network of canals and channels to enjoy wonderful views of the Mekong River, including four famous islands “Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix”.
    • Stop at one of the floating fish houses, in nets and wire baskets under their house, the villagers cultivate freshwater fish and shrimp – a major export product of the region.
    • Cross the River to the other side, you will stop at a traditional workshop to witness a step-by-step process on how to make coconut candy, honey farming… while trying some yourself and listening to traditional music.
    • Enjoy what local people offer by hand rowing a sampan along the shady, breezy canal. We will transfer to local transportation called Xe Lôi to travel throughout the villages.
    • Lunch will be served at a riverside restaurant with a Vietnamese 5-course set menu. Please request in advance if you have a food allergy, you are a vegetarian, or you observe Halal.
    • Take a rest after lunch before boarding the motor-boat back to My Tho. We drive to Vinh Trang pagoda, an ancient southern architectural gem built in the middle of the 19th century. There are many Buddha statues including some that are over a hundred years old.
  • We drive another 1,5 hours back to Ho Chi Minh city and drop you at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Fly to Hanoi (Breakfast)

Hanoi

Timeline:

  • Free on your own until our driver comes to pick you up to transfer to the airport to take a domestic flight to Hanoi.
  • Once arrive, you will be warmly welcomed by the tour guide and driver to transfer to the hotel to check in. The room will be at your disposal from 14h00. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Bai Dinh Pagoda - Trang An complex (Breakfast/Lunch) - Joint in tour

Timeline:

  • 7h45 – 8h30: Depart to Bai Dinh pagoda and Trang An eco-tourism site. Have a short break en-route to free your legs.
  • 10h30 – 11h00: Visit Bai Dinh Pagoda – Southeast Asia’s largest Buddhist complex which consists of several temples and over 500 intricately carved statues of Buddha
  • 12h30: Then, you will have lunch in a restaurant with local special dishes.
  • 13h30: We will visit Trang An by a boat trip through cave chains and an exciting “Kong – Skull Island” film studio.
  • 18h30 – 19h00: You will be dropped at your hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Halong Bay Day Trip (Breakfast/Lunch) - Joint in tour

Halong bay

Timeline:

  • 7h30 – 8h00: Pick up at the hotel and start 3.5-hour scenic – drive to Halong Bay.
  • 12:h45: Arrive at Tuan Chau Harbor, and then embark a Day cruise followed by a short cruise briefing. Have lunch and cruise through the emerald water passing by the Dog Stone, the Burning Incense islet, stop at Ba Hang fishing village for kayaking or sit in a sampan boat rowed by locals. Visit Fighting-Cock islet and the Heavenly Palace (Thien Cung) cave. Have tea break while enjoying local finger food and sunset in Halong Bay.
  • 16h45 – 17h15: Back to the harbor. Disembark and get on the bus back to Hanoi.
  • 20h30: Drop off at your hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7: Hanoi City tour - Join in tour - Departure (Breakfast/Lunch)

Halong Bay

Timeline:

  • Have a local breakfast at your hotel. Afterward, we transfer to Tran Quoc Pagoda – the oldest of its kind in Hanoi, dating back to the 6th century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De Dynasty (544 – 548). The Buddhist shrine has undergone several changes throughout the years, particularly its renaming from An Quoc to Tran Quoc (protecting the country) by Emperor Le Huy Tong in the 17th century.
  • Then we move to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closes on Monday and Friday) and his traditional stilt house.
  • At 12:00 PM, check out the hotel and you will be taken to a restaurant to enjoy lunch first (Indian food). After that, transfer to the airport for your flight back home. End of services. End of tour!

We have a minimum age requirement of 18 years old to join the tour. Group members aged 16-17 years old are welcome to join the tour but only with a family member that will act as their guardian whilst on tour. Aside from that, no age requirements at all!
