Helio Night Market 2026: B.fair Hours, Food & What Changed

Helio night market area in Da Nang
If you found an older guide saying Helio Night Market was closed, that was true for a period in 2025. Helio Night Market temporarily stopped from 5 September 2025 for renovation, then returned in a newer Helio – B.fair format. In 2026, the useful questions are simpler: is it open, what time should you go, what is there now, and when does it make more sense than Son Tra Night Market? Our advice is to treat B.fair as a designed food-and-entertainment evening rather than a traditional local market.

Is Helio Night Market open in 2026?

Yes. Helio – B.fair currently runs daily from 17:00 to 23:00, including Sunday. Many older pages still describe the pre-renovation Helio Night Market, so old hours, stall counts and layout details are no longer useful for planning a 2026 visit.

What changed after the 2025 renovation?

The biggest change is not just the closing time. Helio is now positioning B.fair as a lifestyle night market rather than simply a row of food and souvenir stalls. The current operator describes the venue as a mix of food, shopping, art and entertainment. The current Helio site presents B.fair as a broad mix of food, shopping, art and entertainment rather than a fixed directory of stalls. Because vendor numbers and event programming can change, we would plan around the type of experience rather than a precise stall count. The useful takeaway is that the new format is designed for variety and lingering, not for a quick “walk through a market and leave” visit. That also explains why old reviews can be misleading. A pre-renovation article may still be useful for atmosphere, but old stall counts, old closing times, old event schedules and old layout descriptions should not drive a 2026 plan.

How long do you need at Helio – B.fair?

For most travellers, we would allow about 90 minutes to two hours. That is our planning estimate, not an official visit duration.
  • 60–90 minutes: enough if your goal is dinner, one walk through the venue and a short browse.
  • 90–120 minutes: better for a family or group that wants to compare food, sit down, shop and catch some entertainment.
  • Longer than two hours: only makes sense if a particular event, performance or another Helio Center activity is part of the plan.
If you arrive only to “see the night market”, Helio can feel longer than necessary. If you arrive hungry with a group and want the venue itself to be the evening plan, the extra time becomes useful.

When should you arrive?

The market opens from 17:00. We would arrive in the early evening if dinner and seating matter, then let the venue build around you. If atmosphere or a scheduled event matters more than getting the first choice of seats, arrive later but check the current programme before leaving the hotel.

What is B.fair like now?

Vietnam Story archive image; food remains central to B.fair, but individual stalls and layout can change.
The current B.fair concept still puts food at the centre of the experience, but the exact stall mix can change. Helio’s current site promotes a large food area alongside shopping, art and entertainment. We would arrive expecting choice rather than trying to track down one specific stall from an old review.

Food and seating

  • Food range: expect Vietnamese street food, grilled dishes, seafood and international-style snacks, but treat the current stalls as variable rather than a permanent directory.
  • For groups: B.fair is useful when different people want different food because you can browse first and decide once you are there.
  • For vegetarian or Jain travellers: ask specifically about fish sauce, shrimp paste, meat stock, lard, onion and garlic. A vegetable-looking dish is not automatically suitable.
  • Seating: this is one of the reasons we would choose Helio over a more improvised street-market evening, especially for families or a larger group.

Desserts and drinks

Sweet soups, fruit drinks, milk tea and other casual desserts are the kind of things you can expect to find, but we would not plan around an old price list. Check the menu and price at the stall before ordering.

Why choose Helio – B.fair instead of Son Tra?

Both are valid night-market choices, but they solve different evening plans.
DecisionHelio – B.fairSon Tra Night Market
Best forFood choice, shared seating, entertainment, groups and familiesStreet-food stroll, souvenirs and Dragon Bridge
How the evening worksThe venue itself is the main planThe market is one stop in a riverfront evening
Time we would allowAbout 90–120 minutesAbout 60–90 minutes, longer if staying for the bridge show
Main strengthStructured food + shopping + art/entertainment mixLocation at the Dragon Bridge cluster
Main limitationLess useful if you want a traditional local-market feelMore tourist-facing and more crowded around show time
If Dragon Bridge is already on your list, we would usually choose Son Tra. If you want to sit, eat, let a group choose different food and keep the evening inside one entertainment complex, Helio is the easier fit.
Shopping stalls at Helio night market in Da Nang

Choose Helio when you want the market itself to be the evening plan. Choose Son Tra Night Market when your evening is already centred on the Han River or Dragon Bridge. B.fair is positioned around food, shopping, art and entertainment, so it suits travellers who prefer a more designed venue and shared seating.

Entertainment and events

Helio promotes music, art and event programming as part of B.fair, but schedules can change by date. If live music or a specific event matters to your evening, check Helio’s current programme shortly before you go rather than assuming there is the same show every night.

Shopping and souvenirs

Shopping is part of the B.fair mix, but this is not the page we would use to decide what Vietnamese products are actually worth taking home. Browse for clothing, accessories and small gifts if they catch your eye; for a product-first plan, use our Da Nang souvenirs guide. Ask the price before buying and negotiate politely only where prices are not clearly fixed.

Photos and seasonal decor

The visual setup is part of Helio’s appeal, but decorations can change with events and seasons. If photos matter to you, allow a little time to walk the venue before dinner rather than expecting the same lanterns or installations shown in an old article.
If you want fixed-price retail or a daytime indoor shopping stop instead, compare the options in our Da Nang shopping malls guide.

Who does Helio – B.fair suit best?

Helio becomes a stronger choice when the group needs variety and low-friction decision-making more than a traditional market atmosphere.

Families

For families, the advantage is that dinner, seating and entertainment are concentrated in one venue. That can be easier than moving children between a market, a landmark and another restaurant. If you also plan to use a separate Helio Center children’s attraction, check its current operating status and ticketing independently; B.fair hours do not automatically apply to every facility in the complex.

Groups with different food preferences

This is one of the clearest Helio use cases. Walk the food area once before committing, decide where the group will sit, then let people order separately. It reduces the pressure to make one restaurant work for everyone.

Vegetarian and Jain travellers

The large food choice helps, but it does not remove ingredient ambiguity. Ask about fish sauce, shrimp paste, meat stock and lard; Jain travellers also need to confirm onion and garlic. We would favour stalls where the ingredients and cooking process are easy to see and explain.

Travellers who dislike crowded traditional markets

Helio may feel easier because the experience is more structured. If what you actually want is the rhythm of a working local market, however, use Han, Con or Bac My An instead.

How we would plan a Helio evening

You do not need a minute-by-minute itinerary, but a simple flow prevents the evening from becoming a long loop around food stalls.

A compact 90-minute visit

  • First 15 minutes: walk once without ordering. Check food, seating and any event information.
  • Next 45–60 minutes: eat. If you are in a group, agree on the seating point first so people can split up and order.
  • Final 15–20 minutes: shopping, dessert or one entertainment stop before leaving.

A slower two-hour evening

Use the first hour for food and the second for shopping, art or entertainment. This is the version we would choose for families and groups because nobody needs to rush dinner just to “finish the market”.

Vietnam Story archive image of the Helio area. For navigation, use Helio Center on 2/9 Street rather than the image as a location reference.
Our advice is to arrive after 17:00, walk once before ordering, then choose food and seating based on what is actually open that evening.
  • If you want dinner first: arrive in the earlier part of the evening, especially with children or a larger group.
  • If entertainment matters: check the current event schedule before you leave the hotel; do not assume the same live programme runs every night.
  • Payment: carry Vietnamese dong as a fallback. Individual vendors may use different payment methods, so do not rely only on an international card.
  • Food hygiene: prefer food cooked to order and look at how ingredients and utensils are handled. A polished venue still does not make every individual food choice risk-free.

When Helio makes sense in a Da Nang evening

The main planning question is not whether B.fair has enough food or shopping to fill an evening; it is whether your route leaves a clean evening window. After a full sightseeing day, a 17:00–23:00 reference window gives you room to arrive, eat and browse without turning the night into another tightly timed transfer. This is also where a customised itinerary can be useful. If you are arranging a Central Vietnam trip with us, mention Helio as an evening preference when discussing the route. We can account for the wider itinerary and ground arrangements before confirmation, while vegetarian, Indian or Jain meal requirements can be flagged during planning.

If Helio fits the way you want to spend that evening, you can include it as a preference when requesting your Vietnam itinerary. Use the practical guidance above to decide first whether B.fair actually suits your group.

B.fair should only be treated as included when it appears in the final written itinerary or quotation.

Common Helio planning mistakes

  • Using a pre-2026 guide as if nothing changed: the current B.fair identity and hours should take priority over the old Helio Night Market format.
  • Trying to combine Helio and Dragon Bridge on foot: these are different evening clusters. If the bridge is the anchor, Son Tra is usually more efficient.
  • Arriving with a fixed stall checklist: vendors and event programming can change. Plan around the type of experience, not one stall from an old review.
  • Assuming “vegetarian” solves every dietary requirement: confirm sauces, stocks and Jain restrictions separately.
  • Making shopping the main reason to cross the city: B.fair shopping is a useful extra, but for serious souvenir planning use our Da Nang souvenirs guide.

Is Helio – B.fair worth adding to your evening?

Yes, if you want food, shopping and entertainment in one planned venue and your night is not already built around Dragon Bridge. If you are staying near the river and want the easiest market-plus-bridge combination, Son Tra is the more natural choice. The main thing to remember is that Helio is no longer the exact pre-September-2025 night market described in many older guides. Plan around the current B.fair format and 17:00–23:00 hours, then check the event programme if a particular performance matters to you.
