You do not need to visit every beach in Da Nang. For most trips, the useful decision is whether you want a beach beside the hotel, a quieter resort stretch, a fishing-community stop, or a nature detour that happens to include the sea.
Da Nang has more than 30 km of coastline, but the beaches are not interchangeable. My Khe is the easiest everyday base; Non Nuoc makes more sense when resort time matters; Man Thai and Nam O are better approached as cultural stops; and the coves around Son Tra require more planning than a simple walk from a city hotel.
Choose the beach by the trip you are actually planning
The simplest choice for families, couples and first-time visitors who want to walk to the sea without giving up cafés, Indian food or short rides into central Da Nang.
Better when the hotel itself is part of the holiday and you expect to spend meaningful time by the pool, beach or resort facilities.
Go for the fishing-community atmosphere and early activity rather than treating it as your default swimming beach.
Choose these when village heritage, coastal landscape or nature is the reason for travelling farther from the main hotel zone.

My Khe is the easiest all-round base
My Khe sits only a few kilometres from central Da Nang, and the beach corridor continues through Phuoc My, My Khe and My An. That makes it the most practical choice when you want to see the sea every day without reorganising the rest of the itinerary around it.
The strongest reason to stay here is not an old international ranking. It is the combination of beach access, hotels, cafés and food. The My An–An Thuong side is especially useful when Indian restaurants in Da Nang are part of the hotel-location decision.

Non Nuoc works better for resort time than city walkability
Non Nuoc lies farther south, around the foot of Marble Mountains. Da Nang’s tourism portal describes a long, gently sloping beach here, while the surrounding hotel pattern is more resort-oriented than central My Khe.
This is where we would look first for a couple or family that wants the property itself to provide much of the downtime. The trade-off is location: a beachfront resort can be relaxing, but you may rely more on cars for restaurants and city sightseeing.
A useful pairing: visit Marble Mountains, then use Non Nuoc for a slower part of the day. If craft heritage interests you, the Non Nuoc stone-carving village sits in the same wider area.
Man Thai is a fishing-community stop, not a beach ranking
Man Thai belongs in this comparison because it shows another side of Da Nang’s coast. Early-morning fishing activity remains part of the area’s identity, and in 2026 the city even used the Man Thai fish market as part of its summer visitor programme.
That does not make Man Thai a substitute for My Khe. If your priority is an easy swim close to the hotel, stay with the designated tourist swimming areas. Visit Man Thai when you want to see the working coastline at the right time of day.
Nam O is worth the extra distance when heritage is the reason
Nam O sits around 15 km from central Da Nang, where the Cu De River meets Da Nang Bay. The village is closely associated with traditional fish-sauce production, a craft recognised on Vietnam’s national intangible cultural heritage list in 2019.
For a traveller staying around My Khe, that distance is worthwhile when the village, local craft and the northwestern coastline are part of the purpose. It is less convincing as a special trip simply to say you visited one more beach.
Vegetarian or Jain travellers should also treat the famous local seafood and fish-sauce identity as cultural context, not a dining recommendation. Plan your meals separately rather than expecting the destination’s signature food to fit every dietary requirement.
Son Tra beaches belong to a nature day
Son Tra has several small beaches and rocky coastal areas, but it should not be sold as a collection of effortless “hidden beaches”. The peninsula is a nature area with changing access conditions, steep sections and wildlife habitat.
Plan Son Tra for the peninsula first: viewpoints, forest, Linh Ung area and the coastal scenery. If a beach stop fits the route and current access, treat it as part of that day rather than a guaranteed swimming session.

Swimming, surfing and water sports need different conditions
A calm swimming day is not automatically a good surfing day, and a sunny afternoon does not guarantee safe water conditions. For general beach use, the most useful rule is to decide from the supervised zone and conditions you see that day.
If surfing is the reason for choosing a beach, use the Da Nang surfing guide rather than a generic seasonal claim. For commercial water sports, check the operating zone, weather, safety equipment and current price before paying instead of relying on an old USD figure.

How the beach fits a 3–5 day Da Nang route
3 days: use My Khe as a morning or late-afternoon rhythm around one city day and one major excursion.
4 days: add either a slower beach block or a Son Tra / Marble Mountains coastal combination, depending on your interests.
5 days: you have more room for a Hoi An day trip without sacrificing every beach morning.
Resort-led trip: protect actual downtime. There is little value in paying for Non Nuoc resort facilities and then scheduling full-day sightseeing every day.

For most Indian travellers, My Khe is the practical default because it makes beach time easy without isolating the hotel from food or sightseeing. Non Nuoc is the stronger alternative when the resort itself is a major part of the holiday.
Man Thai, Nam O and Son Tra are different choices altogether. They are worth adding when the fishing community, village heritage or nature route is what you want to experience—not because an itinerary needs more beach names.
